Offered in support of the launch of the company’s Business Credit Membership Alliance (BCMA)
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 6, 2014–
Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp., the leading provider of credit building and credibility solutions for businesses, announced yesterday that it will donate one million dollars in product grants to members of the Business Credit Membership Alliance (BCMA), a membership program for nonprofit and community based lenders and organizations that serve U.S. microbusinesses.
Chief Marketing Officer, Judy Hackett, made the announcement yesterday at AEO’s National Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. AEO (Association for Enterprise Opportunity) is a national membership organization that supports the development of strong and effective U.S. microbusiness initiatives to assist underserved entrepreneurs in starting, stabilizing, and expanding business.
The BCMA program itself is a complete business credit education platform that was created by credit experts from Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. in an effort to give small businesses an opportunity to receive funding and growth. Member organizations will receive a turnkey educational content system, along with access to CreditSignal®, the company’s free credit monitoring solution, which provides customers with alerts to indicate changes in their D&B® credit file.
The product grants will be available to BCMA partners on a first come, first serve basis based on need. BCMA nonprofit and community-based lenders will have the ability to provide their clients with free credit products to help establish, monitor and build a healthy business credit file. Ideal microbusinesses for the product grant include underserved entrepreneurs who may have a strong dependency on business credit scores and ratings to help improve their chances of negotiating credit terms, securing a traditional loan or line of credit and becoming a supplier.
“The smallest of businesses may not think there is a need to establish business credit so early in their business. While that may be true for cash-based businesses, for many, the importance of securing business credit in order to help better manage cash flow can be the difference between failure and success,” said Judy Hackett, CMO of Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. “In our conversations with thousands of businesses a week, we recognized that many of the smaller businesses lack the foundational knowledge of what business credit is and the value it has to assist in their growth. Through our BCMA members, we will be better able to serve this community through the mentorship from a trusted advisor.”
“The BCMA program aligns well with AEO’s commitment to provide underserved and Main Street businesses with access to the services they need to start, grow and hire. We are delighted to be part of the announcement of Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp’s deep investment to provide these important business credit education tools that are crucial to putting business owners on the path to capital,” said Connie Evans, president and CEO of AEO.
Current BCMA partners include AEO, Business Outreach Center Capital Corp., Community Capital NY, Georgia Mentor Protégé Connection, Greater Newark Enterprises Corp., Knowledge Institute, LAX Coastal Area Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Northern Initiatives, SCORE Ventura, and Growbiz.
