SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–September 5, 2017–

MapR Technologies, Inc., provider of the Converged Data Platform that fully integrates analytics with operational processes in real time, today announced it completed another outstanding quarter, as the company continues to challenge both traditional and current Big Data solutions. The company is becoming the system of record for many enterprises and organizations who are advanced in their digital transformation journeys.

In addition, MapR announced an equity round of $56 million from existing investors. The funds will be used to continue product innovation of the industry’s first modern enterprise platform for all data, accelerate country and regional growth to fulfill the demand for the MapR Converged Data Platform throughout APAC and Europe, and bolster MapR’s thriving global partner community.

MapR reported 100 percent quarterly billings growth that highlights an outstanding second quarter of fiscal 2018, which ended on July 31, 2017, one of the largest increases for the company. The second quarter was fueled by advanced product innovation, significant partner growth across regions, and solid customer acquisition. MapR continued to deliver strong revenue performance in the second quarter with over 100 percent year over year growth in new subscription billings which is a catalyst to the company’s 70 percent annual billings growth, year over year.

Global 2000 companies are deploying the MapR Converged Data Platform around the world including American Express, Audi, Cisco, Ericsson, HPE, Novartis, NTT Security, SAP, UnitedHealthcare and Wells Fargo.

Q2 Highlights:

  • MapR introduced MapR-XD, a cloud-scale data store to manage files and containers. As part of the MapR Converged Data Platform, MapR-XD uniquely supports any data type from the edge to the data center and multiple cloud environments with automatic policy-driven tiering from hot, warm or cold data. MapR-XD enables customers to create vast, global data fabrics which are inherently ready for analytical and operational applications making it easier to operationalize data.

  • MapR formed a partnership with NTT DATA Business Solutions Asia Pacific, one of the largest SAP reseller and solutions based consulting firms globally to help customers optimize and find more cost efficiencies for their SAP deployments using the MapR Converged Data Platform. MapR partners include Amazon, Cisco, Google, HPE, Microsoft, SAP and Teradata.

  • Together with Talend, a leader in cloud and big data integration solutions MapR announced a combined offering to help customers meet the most stringent requirements mandated by the European Union’s (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation.
  • MapR is focused on training and certifying developers, data analysts and administrators on the MapR Converged Data Platform. Building on the success of MapR Academy Essentials, the company launched MapR Academy Pro, a new program with comprehensive, advanced technical courses available for immediate access. Since launching MapR Academy Essentials, there have been nearly 80,000 registered users and over 240,000 course enrollments.
