SACRAMENTO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 20, 2014–

iSnap, the market leader in networked photo stations, today announced it has raised approximately $1 million in a Series A round of financing. The funding round was led by a group of super angel investors from California and Europe.

iSnap also announced the appointment of Bob Whitson as Chief Executive Officer. Alexander Lowe, iSnap’s founding CEO, will assume the role of Chief Technical Officer.

“I am thrilled that Bob has joined our team,” said Alexander Lowe, iSnap CTO and Co-Founder. “His deep experience and expertise with emerging companies will help iSnap meet the expanding demand for our networked social photo stations, and from an operational standpoint, position us for profitable growth.”

Whitson is a seasoned industry executive who has held senior management roles with both Fortune 500 and start-up technology companies. Prior to joining iSnap, Whitson was a co-founder and CEO of Sierra Logic, where he led the company through its formation and growth stage, and then managed its profitable acquisition by Emulex.

These developments are part of an overall strategy designed to help iSnap expand its sales and infrastructure, and meet the growing demand for its product. “The Series A funding will allow iSnap to scale its sales and marketing efforts and drive new product development,” explains iSnap CEO Bob Whitson.

Every 10 seconds of every day, a customer snaps and shares a photo with iSnap and since its founding in 2010, iSnap’s revenues have grown over 100% annually. iSnap’s customer base now exceeds 450 branded organizations spread across seven countries, and over 250 million people have received photos and accompanying marketing messages via the iSnap network. These milestones reinforce iSnap’s position as the market leader in networked photo stations.

The iSnap social photo station enables users to snap a photo at an event or venue and instantly share it via email and Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare. iSnap’s marketing analytics software then gathers valuable shared customer data, usage statistics and demographics information. Marketers can also use iSnap’s software subscription packages to maximize the value of their photo station by building email lists, running promotions and building lead generation forms into the user interface. iSnap’s products typically deliver valuable marketing impressions at a fraction of the cost of traditional mediums like web, radio and newspaper.
