Noted industry veteran brings deep technology, product, and community experience to enterprise Hadoop leader

MapR Technologies, Inc., provider of the top-ranked distribution for Apache™ Hadoop®, today announced that Anil Gadre has joined the company as senior vice president of product management. Gadre served as a strategic advisor to the company, and, in his new role, will drive the ongoing strategic development and execution of MapR products. With Gadre, MapR adds a proven technology leader and further expands its deep executive management team.
Gadre brings to MapR more than 20 years of experience driving innovative products. At Sun Microsystems Gadre held a variety of roles, including chief marketing officer, and, most recently, general manager of Sun’s open source software business, which included the Java platform and the MySQL database. Prior to joining MapR, Gadre was executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Silver Spring Networks.
