Intertek Group Affirms Readiness and Viability of Company’s Quality Management System

OSLO, Norway–(BUSINESS WIRE)–October 6, 2015–

Thin Film Electronics ASA (“Thinfilm”) (OSE: THIN.OL; OTCQX: TFECY), a global leader in printed electronics and smart systems, is pleased to announce that the company has received “ISO 9001 Certification.” The certification is an industry standard that verifies the integrity of an organization’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) and recognizes its ability to meet customers’ quality requirements while continually improving operational processes. The recognition supports Thinfilm’s shift from research and development to design and manufacturing, and is a testament to the Company’s ability to deliver printed electronics products to customers across a wide spectrum of vertical markets.

ISO is the International Organization for Standardization, an independent, non-governmental membership organization and the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards. Thinfilm’s certification comes after Intertek, a global inspection, product testing and certification company, and one of the world’s largest ISO 9001 registrars, completed a thorough audit of Thinfilm’s Quality Management System. The establishment of Thinfilm’s QMS made it possible to articulate the company’s vision and mission to innovate within the printed electronics industry while effectively and consistently meeting the needs and expectations of its customers and partners.

“Quality is a central component of our mission and our culture, and we are committed to the ongoing development and delivery of superior products that align with our vision of creating a truly connected world,” said Davor Sutija, Thinfilm’s chief executive officer. “The ISO 9001 Certification is a significant milestone for all of us at Thinfilm.”

As a global leader in the development and commercialization of printed electronics and smart systems, Thinfilm will continue to deliver innovative products based on its core scalable and printed technology platforms. The Company has already shipped electronic article surveillance (EAS) tags and Thinfilm Memory™ labels in volume, and anticipates the same for its NFC OpenSense™ tags and temperature sensor smart labels under the auspices of Thinfilm’s QMS.
