PRESS RELEASE:
Wallflower’s connected solutions for cooking and other home appliances on display at Internet of Things World Conference in San Francisco, May 12-13.
SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 12, 2015–
Wallflower announced today the close of their second round of seed funding totaling $1.5MM. Wallflower offers a suite of connected products and services focused on improving safety and control for everyday home appliances, with their first product targeting gas and electric stoves. To date, the company has raised over $2MM in funding. The additional capital will be used to grow its engineering team and expand trials with consumers and insurance providers in the United States.
Wallflower’s flagship product, Wallflower Ember™, connects to any gas or electric cooking appliance, giving it Internet connectivity and linking it to a homeowner’s mobile device. If a homeowner leaves the premises with the stove on, Wallflower Ember instantly and automatically notifies the customer and provides him or her with options to remotely shut it off via the Wallflower mobile application.
“Our first product is focused on bringing safety and peace of mind to tens of millions on households by warning consumers when they leave their homes without turning off their stove,” says Victor Jablokov, Wallflower’s Founder and CEO. “We are solving a huge problem that causes deaths, injuries and billions in property damage annually.”
Wallflower will be showcasing the Ember at the 2nd Annual Internet of Things World Conference at the Moscone Center, San Francisco on May 12-13, 2015 in booth #SU10.
